  1. Connect: Authorize Tamsaek to access your Google Drive
  2. Sync: Tamsaek downloads file metadata and content
  3. Index: Files are indexed locally on your computer
  4. Search: Find any file instantly, even offline

Your files are cached locally, so searches work without internet after the initial sync.

  1. Open Tamsaek Settings (gear icon or Cmd+,)
  2. Go to the Cloud tab
  3. Click Connect next to Google Drive
  4. Sign in with your Google account
  5. Grant Tamsaek permission to read your files

Choose what to sync:

  • All files: Index everything in your Drive
  • Specific folders: Select only folders you need
  • Shared drives: Include team drives (if applicable)

The first sync downloads file content for indexing. Time depends on:

  • Number of files
  • Total size of documents
  • Internet speed

You can use Tamsaek while syncing—already-indexed files are searchable immediately.

After setup, Google Drive files appear in regular search results:

  2. The index lives entirely on your device
  3. New files sync when you’re back online
